The holidays are upon us! You may be finishing up projects for this year, preparing for a launch next year, or getting holiday marketing programs and initiatives out the door. No matter what you’re doing, it never hurts to have a little no-cost or low-cost marketing help. Here are some of our favorite resources:

1. Easy Graphic Design.

Need to whip out a business card, holiday card, or customize an image for a social media post – and have no budget for graphic design? Jump onto Canva or PicMonkey. Both have free, easy-to-use versions, and there are plenty of quick tutorials on YouTube to get you started.

2. Photos For Just About Anything You Need.

More and more, we’re using Pixabay, which has an increasingly wide variety of good stock photography. Unsplash is my hands-down favorite, though, for beautiful imagery at no cost; Death to Stock photos is another option. If you’re willing to pay a bit to get exactly what you want, try iStock or 123rf.

3. Your Own Online Proofreader And Editor.

Every one of our consultants uses Grammarly, a plugin for your browser that checks grammar, spelling, and punctuation online. Now, you can be sure that your social media posts, marketing emails, and website updates are error-free.

For help writing clear, easy-to-understand marketing and sales copy or website content, Hemingway is a great tool. You can increase the effectiveness of your headlines with help from an online headline analyzer (our favorite is this one).

4. Professional Email Marketing.

MailChimp is the go-to for small businesses who want to do email marketing right. Better yet, it’s easy to learn and relatively hard to screw up. There is no charge for accounts with 2,000 or fewer contacts and affordable pricing for those who email to larger lists. You can ignore the current landing page (ugh!); click on “scroll to homepage” for a good overview.

5. Social Media Scheduling.

You can’t go wrong with the free version of HootSuite. Enough said.

6. Easy Event Registration.

If you need to schedule a client appreciation event, workshop, or seminar, Eventbrite has you covered. If you don’t charge to attend, they won’t charge you.

7. The Fastest Online Printers.

OvernightPrints is an affordable way to get your business cards, fast. We prefer Moo for last-minute holiday cards. Use our referral code to get 20% off.

A few more of our favorites: Toggl, for tracking time; Basecamp, for project management; and LastPass, so that we never have to remember another password again.

Have a tool you love, that’s not on the list? Send it our way.

Here’s to a productive – and slightly less expensive – holiday season!
